SACO — Rachel F. Goulet, 87, of Saco, died peacefully on Friday, Jan. 23 at home with her family by her side.

She was born on July 28, 1927, the daughter of Francois and Georgianna (Martin-eau) Nadeau.

On Sept. 27, 1947, she married Rene J. Goulet. She lived on Pool Road in Biddeford for many years and later moved to Paul Hazelton House in Saco.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rene, in 2003; her five sisters, Yvonne Roberge, Angeline Nadeau, Amanda Roberge, Bertha Sevigny, and Blanche Martin; and four brothers, Robert, Wilfred, Urbain and Arthur.

She is survived by: her two sons, Gerard Goulet and his wife Susan of Biddeford, and Donald Goulet of Kittery Point; three daughters, Claire Grant and her husband Mike of Saco, Joan Gagnon and her husband Daniel of Saco, and Connie Lucier of North Waterboro; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Brother Donald Nadeau, HC, of Montreal, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours are from 4-7 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St. Biddeford on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and a Mass of Christian burial will take place at Most Holy Trinity in Saco at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery immediately following.
