NEWARK, Del. — D.J. Seely scored 33 points and the Delaware 87ers hit consecutive 3-pointers in overtime for a 114-108 win over the Maine Red Claws in an NBA D-League game Friday night at Bob Carpenter Sports Convocation Center.
Seely broke a 106-106 tie with 53.6 seconds left on the first 3-pointer and, after a steal by Drew Gordon, Jared Cunningham got the second with just under 20 seconds left.
Omari Johnson made a layup on Maine’s next possession before Cunningham iced it with two free throws.
The Red Claws (17-7) trailed by as many as six points three times in the fourth quarter, finally tying it on two free throws by Tim Frazier with 3:40 left in regulation.
Maine fell behind 104-99 on two free throws by Seely with 21.4 seconds left, but Frazier hit a layup and a free throw with 16.5 left, and Christian Watford tipped in a shot 10 seconds later to tie it at 104.
Andre Dawkins, who signed a 10-day tryout with the Celtics and was assigned to the Red Claws on Friday, had a rough start in his debut. He scored nine points on 4-of-18 shooting from the field, including 1 of 13 from behind the arc.
Rodney McGruder led Maine with 24 points, Frazier followed with 23 and Johnson had 21.
Gordon had 13 points for Delaware (10-13).
