Wind ensembles plan free concert
The Westbrook High School Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Kyle Smith, will be collaborating with the Gordon College Wind Ensemble for a concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center in the middle school.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for the high school musicians to perform with college players as well as experiencing a collegiate band rehearsal under the direction of Gordon College’s Dr. David Rox,” said Phil Rich, Westbrook School Department music director.
Rich said students would also attend a master class with the student musicians from the college to discuss topics related to their specific instrument. The concert is free and open to the public.
