BIDDEFORD — Anita R. Boucher, 91, of Biddeford, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at St. André Health Care facility in Biddeford.
She was born May 10, 1923 in Biddeford, a daughter of Mederic and Lydia (Allaire) Binette and was educated locally. Anita graduated from the former St. Andre’s High School, Class of 1942. After graduation she worked at the Saco-Lowell Shops from 1942 until 1955.
On Nov. 27, 1947, she married Alcide Boucher at St. Andre’s Church.
Anita was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, knitting and created beautiful needlework. She was an excellent homemaker who enjoyed preparing traditional French Canadian dishes into her ninetieth year.
Anita is survived by: her husband of 67 years, Alcide Boucher of Biddeford; two daughters, Charlene Rana and her husband Louis of Marco Island, Florida, and Mary Jane Goulet and her husband Michael of Biddeford; two grandchildren, Dr. Adam Rana of Falmouth, and Anne Aberle of Los Angeles, California; three great-grandchildren, William, Harrison and Charlotte Rana, all of Falmouth; one brother, Richard Binette of Biddeford; and one sister, Noella Bernard of Biddeford.
Visiting hours will be 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday at St. Anne’s Chapel of St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
