PHIPPSBURG — Nancy Birckbichler, 76, died in her sleep at her home in West Point, Maine, on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014. She was born in Portland, Maine, on March 8, 1938, to Kenneth Wallace and Alwilda Alexander Wallace. She grew up in Phippsburg and attended local schools.

She was a special woman who touched the lives of many. Those who knew her remember her fondly with descriptions of phenomenal, fun, special, amazing, favorite, caring, rare, compassionate, one of a kind, and important in my life.

She adored her native Maine, the beaches, boats and wildlife. She also enjoyed Florida winters, travel, good music and time spent with her family and friends. She was especially fond of her cats Bouncy and Honey Babe.

She is survived by her dear friend Daniel York, her son Darren Birckbichler, daughters Andrea Brand and Victoria Birckbichler, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren.

Private services will be in early summer.
