The Knights of Columbus of Biddeford, Saco, Lyman and Old Orchard Beach would like to extend warm wishes and a big thank you to the community and parishioners of Good Shepherd Parish for their support for our 16th annual free Thanksgiving dinner held this year at Most Holy Trinity hall in Saco.

The outpouring was again very noticeable in the amount of volunteers that showed up for the event, about 100, that helped prepare or serve the meal on premises or take-out. We ended up serving 700 meals with 375 take-out and 325 on premises.

Thanks goes out to Good Shepherd Parish for accommodating us with their parish hall and to the many businesses and individuals who supported us with monetary gifts and merchandise to make the dinner successful, namely: Sappi North America of Westbrook, the Daughters of Isabella, Saco-Biddeford Savings, Bob and Mike’s Mini Mart, Vic’s Appliance, RF Nadeau and Son, Reny’s Deparment Store, Hannaford Bros., Shaw’s Supermarkets, Market Basket, TJ’s Pizza, Fernleaf Bakery, Dunkin Dounts of Biddeford and all the individuals who donated turkeys or cooked turkeys and pies.

We look forward to doing it again next year as this has become a wonderful community affair for our area.

Mike Bolduc, Knights of Columbus
