He was born in Biddeford on Nov. 17, 1933, the son of Carleton T Pellerin Sr. and Florence Seavey Pellerin. He attended Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy. He then left for Connecticut where he was employed at Wallingford Steel Mill. He returned to Maine and attended vocational school before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and serving in Korea.
Carl married Carmella M. Levesque in St. Leonard, NB, Canada on April 23, 1957. He was employed by AT&T in various locations throughout Maine, retiring after 41 years in 1997.
Always involved in his community, he was one of the three founding members of Post 202, American Legion, Topsham, and also of the Topsham Youth Soccer program and Brunswick Area Youth Hockey. He coached both house and travel hockey teams for 30 years and was a former assistant hockey coach at Mt. Ararat High School.
Mr. Pellerin was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish.
He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of Topsham; a daughter, Diane Fitzmaurice and her husband Michael of Topsham; two sons, John Pellerin and his wife Tara of Boxford, MA and James Pellerin of Bradenton, FL; seven grandchildren, Brian Fitzmaurice of Freeport, Kelly Theberge and her husband Alex of Brunswick, Brooks, Connor, Ashleen and Brina Pellerin, all of Boxford, MA and Justin Pellerin Pelkey.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Baptist Church, 39 Pleasant St., Brunswick. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in the spring.
