DAMARISCOTTA — Savory Maine Dining and Provisions is pleased to exhibit the “Katahdin Fantasies” of Yarmouth watercolor artist Harry Beskind from December 4 – January 12. After painting for the past 13 years, this artist has realized that his late “career” in watercolors presents just another outlet for the creativity that he often used in his 42 years of practice as a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst.

For Harry, painting has represented a continuation rather than a departure from his life work, which was to try to understand aspects of our mental life and its effects on our soul. Harry feels he has been very fortunate to have found this wonderful way of sharing his ideas through his paintings.

This colorful exhibit, a compilation of the artist’s recent work with a focus on Maine’s Katahdin, is in Savory Maine’s main dining room. An opening reception for Harry will be held on Friday, December 12 from 3 to 5 pm, with beer and wine as well as delectable finger foods. The public is invited.

Savory Maine is located at 11 Water Street and is open from 11 am to 8 pm, serving lunch and dinner. It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For more information call 563-2111, ‘like’ Savory Maine on Facebook, or visit www.savorymainedining.com
