The editorial “Our View: Voter mailing shows vulnerability of data” (Nov. 18) prompted me to share our recent experience.
I received numerous calls prior to the elections. Oddly enough, this year was the first year we chose to go the absentee ballot route for my family of four.
I did not get them returned in a timely manner, but I did end up bringing them in the day before the election. I found it very strange that an automated call “knew” we had absentee ballots that had not yet been returned. Soon afterward, a real live caller also knew that our absentee ballots were not yet returned.
So I guess there is not much information that is unavailable to these pre-election callers.
