HAMPTON, N.H. — Marion J. MacPhail, 72, of Hampton, formerly of Biddeford, Maine, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014 at Exeter Hospital, with her loving niece by her side.

She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts July 1, 1942, a daughter of the late Donald and Clara (Berry) MacPhail.

Ms. MacPhail was employed as a teacher and assistant principal in the Biddeford school system for more than 25 years.

She made her home in Hampton for the past six years.

She leaves: two sisters, Beverly Martel and her husband Tim of Topsham, Maine, and Betty Holmes and her husband Jack of Mesa, Arizona; her niece, Kelli Gullison and husband Ed of Exeter; two nephews, Scott Holmes of South Portland, Maine, and John Martel and his wife Christine of Cumberland, Maine; five great-nephews, Jared, Cole, Brody, Aiden and Ronan; her great-niece, Aine; and many close friends.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2014 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton, with a reception to follow. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Private interment will be in First Parish Cemetery, York, Maine.
