Let’s see if I understand the intriguing proposal for ranked-choice voting (“Ranked-choice voting advocates gathered 36,000 signatures on Election Day,” Nov. 12).

On my ballot in the recent election for governor, I found the names of three candidates. I indicated a first and a second choice.

Because my first choice came in third, my ballot was re-examined and the tally of my second choice was increased by one.

Although I only submitted one ballot, did I not vote twice?
