ARUNDEL — Wayne Richard Howard, 56, of Arundel, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014 in Merrill.

He was born Aug. 29, 1958 in Biddeford, a son of Richard and Rachel (Gosselin) Howard.

He was educated locally, graduating from Biddeford High School in the Class of 1976.

In 1976, Wayne served for 2 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a chef at Vallerie’s Restaurant in Ogunquit for several seasons, and the Pour Farm Restaurant in Biddeford for eight years. His last employer was Kamco, where he worked as a boom truck operator and managed a warehouse.

Wayne possessed a “green thumb” as witnessed by his wonderful garden. He had a passion for any kind of outdoor activity, especially fishing and hunting.

Preceding Wayne in death was his father, Richard Howard, in 2009.

He is survived by: a son, Jakeb Wayne Howard of Tustin, California; his mother, Rachel Howard of Garden Grove, California; stepmother, Sharlene Howard; two sisters, Linda Chasse and her husband Russell of Biddeford and Brenda Coyle of Apache Junction, Arizona; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
