PHIPPSBURG — The host of MPBN’s “Maine Things Considered” will show another side of himself when the jazz ensemble Tom Porter & Friends plays in concert at the Phippsburg Congregational Church on Friday, November 21 at 7:30 p.m..
While Porter is best to known to Maine audiences as the MPBN radio voice with an English accent, he is also an accomplished jazz pianist who has shared the stage with top jazz musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.
For the Phippsburg concert, Porter will be joined by a trio of seasoned Mainebased musicians including Frank Mauceri on saxophone, Sam Sherry on bass, and Mark Barnette on drums.
The historic Phippsburg Congregational Church is located at 10 Church Lane (at Parker Head Rd.) in Phippsburg. Tickets will be available at the door. Doors open at 7:00. Admission is $12.00; students and children $6.00. Children under eight are admitted free. Refreshments will be served. For more information call 389-1770.
