ARUNDEL — Ethel Nancy Madore, 72, a resident of Post Road, died early Friday morning, Nov. 7, 2014, at her residence.
She was born in Kennebunkport on April 21, 1942, a daughter of William N. and Hazel V. (Boston) Mitchell.
She graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1960.
Mrs. Madore worked as a librarian aide at Wells Junior High School for 27 years.
She was a long-time member of the Kennebunk Baptist Church, where she was very active as a Sunday School teacher. She was very active in Haiti relief, supporting Love and Grace Ministries.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Richard Madore, who died in 2012; two brothers, Vernon Benjamin Lucas and Daniel Colby Mitchell; and a sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Going.
She is survived by: her son, William “Bill” Madore and his wife Sherri of Arundel; a daughter, Debra “Debbie” (Madore) Gorton and her husband Steven of Arundel; a sister, Barbara Gordon of Arundel; five grandchildren, Jacob and Jared Madore, and Rick, Megan and Erin Gorton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014 at the Kennebunk Baptist Church, Main Street, Kennebunk, with Rev. James King officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.
