DAMARISCOTTA — Savory Maine Dining & Provisions in Damariscotta is happy to present the pastel paintings of Whitefield artist Barbara Vanderbilt from October 23 through December 2.
The exhibit will include some of Vanderbilt’s stunning interpretations of Maine’s rock, wood and ice formations. She is fascinated by nature’s timeworn crafting of unusual designs in its rocks and trees, and Maine’s coast offers a vast geographical repertoire for her to choose from. Many of her paintings capture the subtle changes in texture and color of rock and wood and result in intriguing studies of the outdoor world around us.
An opening reception for Vanderbuilt will be held on Friday, October 24 from 3 to 5 p.m. Savory Maine will provide delectable sweet and savory finger foods. Beer and wine will be available to purchase. The public is invited.
Savory Maine is located at 11 Water Street and is open six days a week, serving lunch and dinner from 11 am to 8 Thursday through Tuesday. The restaurant sources most of its food from Maine, and essentially all of it is organically grown, wild harvested, or grass fed.
