BRUNSWICK — On Saturday, Oct. 25, from 6 – 9 p.m., join Curtis Memorial Library for BOOKED FOR THE NIGHT, hosted by the Curtis Contemporaries — a newly formed group whose mission is to strengthen the library’s connection with a new generation of community members, and engage them in the future stewardship of the library for generations to come.

The Contemporaries will host this after- hours, adults-only event at Curtis for the entire community.

Our committee includes Brunswick folks Kate Egan ( children’s book author and editor of The Hunger Games); Molly McGrath ( The Telling Room); Ben Tucker (attorney); Chris Goodwin ( Goodwin Motors) and Bonnye Sensenig (BEK, Inc.).

Local favorites 111 Maine, Baxter Brewing and Gelato Fiasco will be serving up their specialties.

Brunswick residents and Araby Rug ( Falmouth) owners Clare and Stephen Moss, and their son Justin from Boston, cap the night with some lively stories of how they commissioned “The Rainbow Rug” (19 x 33 feet!) for the library in Gordes, Turkey, and brought it to Brunswick for the library community to enjoy 10 years ago this month. The Moss’ will return to Curtis on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26 from 2- 3:00 PM for a Family Event to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Rainbow Rug at Curtis. Kids will be encouraged to find the ” hidden treasures” woven into the rug.
