SACO — Gary W. Hoyt, 60, of Saco, passed away on Oct. 17, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.
Gary was born on July 3, 1954 in Providence, R.I., a son of Robert W. and Florence I. (Webster) Hoyt.
He graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 1972.
He was employed as a night auditor at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel in South Portland for many years.
Gary had a passion and extensive knowledge of baseball cards and sports; he loved football and was an avid Patriots fan. He enjoyed walking on the beach and collecting sea glass.
He was preceded in death by: his father, Robert W. Hoyt; and a grand nephew, Grayson Cole Hoyt.
Gary is survived by: his mother, Florence I. Hoyt of Saco; and his brothers, Robert Hoyt and his wife Jane of Texas, Russell A. Hoyt Sr. and his wife Krissy of Arundel, and Mark S. Hoyt of Windham.
He is also survived by: his extended family, including his nieces and nephews, Matthew Hoyt, Ethan Hoyt, Daniel Hoyt, Elaine Leach and her husband Jayson, Elise Valade and her husband Matthew, Russell A. Hoyt Jr. and his wife Crystal, Alicia Hoyt and Stephanie Hoyt; his grandnieces and grandnephews, J.J. Hill, Hunter Leach, Sophia Leach and Robert Valade; and many cousins and great friends.
