The 2014 campaign season is upon us, and the candidate of my choice is James Booth for State Senate District 32, which encompasses Biddeford, Arundel, Dayton, Lyman, Alfred and Kennebunkport.
As a candidate for the State Senate, he will not take money from the Clean Election campaign fund, which is paid for by the citizens of Maine. The majority of candidates have done this and are doing it in 2014, even though many could well afford to pay for their own candidacy. The money for Jim’s candidacy will come out of his own pocket, not the citizens of Maine.
I am proud to know him, because he is a strong and determined person who cares about his fellow taxpayer who is the invisible and the forgotten of Maine and of this nation. He has refused the Clean Election campaign fund of $25,000 from the citizens of Maine; instead he will go the traditional way and take responsibility of his own campaign, and not look to burden the taxpayers of Maine for his candidacy.
James Booth promises that his vote will count, and he will represent the taxpayer’s pocket books, and he will listen to his constituents and to what they say. I ask the citizens of Maine to cast their vote for James Booth State Senate in District 32, either by absentee ballot or by going to the polls and voting on Nov. 4.
Melanie Mitchell, Arundel
