BRUNSWICK — Mildred Allen, age 90, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday Oct. 14, 2014, at Horizons Living and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 9, 1924, in Lisbon Center, a daughter of William and Ina Pitcher Clark. She graduated from Lisbon Falls High School, class of 1942. She married Harold Allen on March 8, 1944, in Lisbon Falls. Mr. Allen died on Oct. 17, 2012.
She was an active member of the West Bowdoin Baptist Church, having served on the Women’s Mission Society. She enjoyed reading and crocheting. Above all, she treasured her time with grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband; a son, James Allen; a daughter, Jane Allen; seven sisters, Katherine Hall, Dorothy Webster, Marion Clark, Ethel Darling, Bertha Holman, Margaret Barrett and Hazel Sawyer.
She is survived by a son, Neal Allen and his wife Tracy of West Windfield, NY; three daughters, Joyce May and her husband Gene of Topsham, Patricia Dolphin of Boynton Beach, FL, Priscilla McDonald and her husband Dan of Heinsburg, VT; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family can visit 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick, ME. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the West Bowdoin Baptist Church, 54 West Road, Bowdoin, ME. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls.
