I am honored to endorse Rep. Sharri MacDonald to be re-elected to serve as our state representative. I have known Sharri personally for more than 35 years, from when she was a student in my CCD class at St. Margaret’s through her leadership as a student-athlete at Old Orchard Beach High School and up to her community involvement.
I have had the pleasure of working politically with her when she served on the school board and as a town councilor. She has served OOB well for years with her heart and head. Her mix of care and cognition resulted in several improvements to our schools and town, as well as brought benefit to our town facilities and employees, and hundreds of students and residents. It is with no reluctance that I support such a caring, spirited and intelligent individual to continue to represent us in Augusta.
In addition to her public service, Sharri has been responsible for founding and leading OOB365. Through her energetic participation, she has assisted with the brainstorming of fun-filled, family oriented events that promote local business while fostering community involvement. Her vision and leadership has resulted in thousands of dollars generated for area businesses, and OOB365 profits are returned to the community through donations to local food pantries, our schools, The Ballpark, various organizations and needy residents. Sharri’s leadership, her OOB pride and consensus-building skills have been evident in all that she has endeavored.
Sharri is very approachable due to her authentic style and exceptional listening skills, which are a significant characteristic that builds trust and respect readily with the individuals that she is elected to represent to serve.
Another valuable attribute is Sharri’s heartfelt desire for making a difference in Augusta. Sharri is a tireless representative as evidenced by her motivational level, determination and strong work ethic. She has worked collaboratively with other representatives, both Democrat and Republican, in order to promote and foster legislation that will help OOB and Maine. Sharri is fiscally conservative and socially responsible. These efforts include, and are not limited to, addressing welfare fraud, funding local projects, reducing the cost of taxes, and coordinating meetings with constituents and state agencies.
In regards to ethics, Sharri’s integrity is of the highest level and her honesty is superior. It is without hesitation that I give Sharri my endorsement. I have nothing but respect and admiration for her. Based on her demonstrated capabilities locally, I am confident that she will continue to exceed our high standards and expectations at the state level.
Due to the extensive contributions that Sharri has made in OOB, I believe that her knowledge, solid commitment and diligent efforts will serve us well if she remains our representative in Augusta. OOB deserves a State Representative that leads with their heart and head so we can move OOB and Maine forward.
