BIDDEFORD — Pauline B. Hevey, 86, of Biddeford, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco, surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 3, 1928 in Biddeford, a daughter of Henry and Blanche (Pinard) Chenard.
She was educated locally at St. Andre’s School and Biddeford High School.
On May 28, 1949, she married Robert Hevey at St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.
When her children were grown, she worked for 12 years in the deli department of the Biddeford Shop ‘n’ Save.
She had taught CCD at St. Andre’s Church for 25 years and worked on the funeral luncheons there for 15 years. Pauline volunteered her time to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for 20 years and also volunteered at Southern Maine Health Care working with breast cancer survivors.
Her delightful smile and wonderful sense of humor were a gift to all she came in contact with.
Pauline was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert, in 2011; seven brothers, Paul, Mark, Roland, Raymond, Robert, Lucien and Conrad Chenard; and a sister, Claire Dube.
Surviving are: two daughters, Linda Briggs and her husband Allen of Rochester, New York and Karen Cormier and her husband William of Biddeford; two sons, Robert Hevey and his wife Maxey of East Waterboro and Timothy Hevey and his wife Janet of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts; two brothers, Ralph Chenard of Biddeford and David Chenard of Kingston, Massachusetts; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
