It is a crying shame that such a wealthy and revered organization as the National Football League can’t figure out how to get its house in order.
Ten days in seclusion by Commissioner Roger Goodell led to the worst train wreck of a news conference in recent history. Nothing new from the commish – just a recap where he stated that, yes, there is a problem and it will be addressed.
If he can’t figure out how to lead the NFL and “get it right” right now, then he should resign. No ifs, ands or buts about it.
Men and women alike should be outraged at his performance, as well as the performance of the alleged perpetrators of these heinous crimes. The status of NFL players is elevated in our society to such a level that they have become iconic. They should at least try to live up to that.
Looks like golf, cars turning left or “NCIS” reruns for me on Sunday afternoons. At least the “NCIS” plots are fiction!
