LYMAN — Diane Gilbert, 64, of Lyman, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford, following a brief illness.
She was born in St. Gedeon, Canada on April 14, 1950, a daughter of Polycarpe and Mary Reine (Quirion) Dallaire.
She grew up in St. Gedeon and was educated in local schools.
In 1968, she married Claude Gilbert, and they moved to the United States, settling in Lyman.
Diane was a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Kennebunk. Diane loved to read her Bible and proclaim her faith to others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son, Bruce Gilbert, in 1987.
Diane is survived by: her loving husband, Claude of Lyman; her daughter, Cathy Gilbert of Arundel; five brothers, Jean Louis Dallaire of Lavaltri, Quebec, Canada, Jean Marc Dallaire of East Hartford, Quebec, Canada, Michel Dallaire of Lavaltri, Quebec, Canada, Daniel Dallaire of Lac Drolet, Canada, and Roberto Dallaire of New Brunswick, Canada; two sisters, Mary Paule of St. Ren, Canada, and Marcelle Savare of Quebec, Canada; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a memorial service at noon at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford.
