A Casco man was struck by a vehicle along Route 11 Thursday morning.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Crossman, 60, of Poland Spring Road (Route 11) in Casco, was struck while walking near 469 Poland Spring Road.

Heidi Bernier, 42, of River Road in Raymond, was operating a Chevy PT Cruiser, traveling southwest on Poland Spring Road when she struck Crossman, who was walking in a southwesterly direction.

Crossman was taken by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with critical injuries. Bernier was treated and released on scene.

The accident and cause remains under investigation and is being reconstructed.
