The MAPS Educational Scholarship Foundation would like to thank all those who played a part in making our 19th annual Breakaway 5K Road Race a success. We are thankful for the 600-plus runners who participated in both races. The proceeds of the race are used to provide scholarships for graduating seniors who are going on to post-secondary education. Without the tremendous support from our community to put on a quality event such as this, these scholarships would not be possible.
Thank you very much to the Old Orchard Beach Police Department and Fire Department, and OOB Public Works for their continued support and participation. And thank you to the many volunteers who make this event possible for the runners and spectators.
