Have you ever thought about running for town council or school board? Currently, the Town of South Berwick has two open positions for town council and one open position for the school board. Nomination papers are available in the clerk’s office, and the deadline to apply is quickly approaching. We have received one application for each of these open positions. As the town manager, I can only be as strong as the people I work for and with.

We have two council members who are retiring after many years of service. They have been great to work with, and I would like to see more of the same as we maneuver through the next few years.

Being a town councilor does take time from everyone’s busy schedules, but the payback to the community can be tremendous. We have a great staff here, and they try to lighten the load for our councilors by providing up-to-date, accurate information and total transparency in our operations.

We ask you to consider becoming part of this team. We are looking forward to working with you. Stop by the clerk’s office to pick up the nomination paperwork. All paperwork must be completed and turned in by 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 19.

If you would like to know more about the position or the commitments involved stop by my office. My door is always open.

Town Manager Perry Ellsworth,

South Berwick
