USM 1, ST. JOSEPH’S 0: Jonathan Varney scored 48 seconds into overtime to send the Huskies (1-4) to a victory over the Monks (1-5) at Gorham.

COLBY 6, THOMAS 0: Aliza Van Leesten scored her first two collegiate goals to cap a rout for the host Mules (1-1) against the Terriers (2-3) in Waterville.
Cami Notaro, Lauren McCarthy, Georgia Lubrano and Laura Arnold also scored.
UMAINE-FARMINGTON 1, ST. JOSEPH’S 0: Ava Amador scored on a feed from Katie Clark in the 59th minute as the host Beavers (1-1) edged the Monks in a non-conference match.
UNE 1, HUSSON 0: Becca Murphy scored on a cross from Edie Pallozzi in the 53rd minute as the Nor’easters (3-0) edged the Eagles (2-3).
FIELD HOCKEY
USM 2, UMAINE-FARMINGTON 0: Peyton Dostie scored unassisted late in the first half as the Huskies (2-2) won a non-conference matchup at Farmington. Leanne Reichert added her goal, also unassisted in the later stages of the second half. Amanda Kasbohm was stellar in goal, making 11 saves. Patricia Smith stopped three shots for the Beavers (2-1).
BASEBALL
SMCC 6, EMCC 1: Southern Maine Community College (2-0) used a five-run fourth inning to come from behind and edge Eastern Maine Community College (0-1) at South Portland.
Phillip Langley led the Seawolves’ offense by going 2 for 2 with a pair of doubles and two runs scored.
SOFTBALL
SMCC 9, EMCC 1: Melinda Pye hit a two-run homer to break a 1-1 tie in the third inning and Southern Maine Community College (0-1) went on the defeat Eastern Maine Community College (0-1) 9-1 at South Portland.
