Lots of good stuff to analyze in the last few days, such as Gordon Weil’s socialist commentary on “the extreme conservative politics.” Note here that he does not capitalize TEA party, nor does he write out the words for which it stands: Taxed Enough Already. Wonder why he would do such a thing. Considering that America was born because of excessive taxation, one might think that we have a good perspective on this form of slavery.
After all, if governments of one form or another tax you for over half of your income, could you understand that for half of the year you are a slave? More than 100 new taxes have burdened the American taxpayers in the last century. This leads one to the question: If you think you are taxed enough already, are you really one of these “extreme conservatives”? Well, count me in.
Then he mentions one of our senators and tells us that she is a “moderate.” What does that mean? Well, it really means a person who either compromises their principles or has no principles. Just tell the voters what they want to hear and then stab them in the back when you get into office.
A little lesson here: A conservative will be conservative when it comes to spending the taxpayer’s money and a liberal will give it away by the bundle and be happy to tax you even more, or even better, leave a conservative holding the bag for all their liberal spending. Sort of reminds you of what our governor is facing, doesn’t it?
Next, a candidate for office laments his TEA party connections and says such silly stuff as, he “doesn’t believe in being defined by any label.” This is weasel speak for, “I don’t really have any principles.” And further on, “I have support from across the political spectrum.” Again, translated as, “I don’t really have any convictions.”
Sad that our politics has degenerated to such a state that politicians refuse to tell voters what they really stand for. Also sad that the liberal press will castigate a conservative for not compromising with the tax-and-spend liberals but would never criticize a liberal for refusing to compromise with a conservative who wants government to cease and desist being a charity organization.
Gotta learn to read between the lines, folks. Lots of wonderful propaganda coming your way every day.
