• Carly Messer joined Portland Integritas Advisors LLC as a financial planner trainee.
Messer is currently pursuing a degree in business administration and a certification as a financial planner.
• Robert Marcroft joined The Iris Network as resident services manager at the Iris Park Apartments.
Marcroft previously provided case management and advocacy services at Preble Street Veteran Housing Services and supported residents at Shalom House. He was also a residential technician at Serenity House, where he educated clients on relapse prevention techniques while assisting them with recovery.
• Gary Barron was named executive director of Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
Barron comes from SheerBliss Ice Cream in Sunrise, Florida, where he was the founder and served as president. He brings two decades of experience in fundraising, marketing and community outreach.
Previously, Barron served as deputy treasurer of the Democratic National Committee, where he oversaw the major donor program of the national party. Additionally, Barron worked in the White House under Presidents Ford, Carter and Reagan.
• Japhet Els joined the AARP Maine State Office as an outreach director.
Els has more than 10 years of experience in grassroots campaigns and communications including work for AARP Vermont on its multistate utilities campaign.
• Ed Brady joined the sales staff at Classic Flooring, 427 Route 1 in Scarborough.
Brady, of Scarborough, brings several years of experience in the flooring business.
• Seafax Inc. announces several hires:
Amita Nouchanthavong joined the firm as accounts receivable specialist in the receivables management services department.
Nouchanthavong previously worked as a manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Christopher O’Hara also joined Seafax’s receivables management services department as accounts receivable specialist. O’Hara previously worked in sales at Black Diamond Networks.
Erik Rousseau was recently hired as credit analyst in the credit department at Seafax. Rousseau previously worked as a manager at Play It Again Sports.
Matthew Spahr also joined Seafax’s credit department as a credit analyst. Spahr was previously employed by the seafood division of Diversified Communications.
• BerryDunn has hired 24 people to support its continued growth in accounting and consulting services to clients throughout New England.
Joshua Minnich and Gavin Penny joined as tax specialists. Amanda Eskow, Benjamin Halloran, Carlos Newsome, Thomas Robinson and Kolby Youland were hired as staff accountants. Tucker Cutter, a consultant, joined BerryDunn’s management and information technology group.
The firm’s government consulting group has hired Peter Alfrey, Mitch Darrow, Dane Fletcher and Jim Strasenburgh as senior consultants; Nicole Bailey, Adam Bates, Zachary Rioux and Ethan Wiley as consultants; Kristin Sims-Kastelein and Jennifer Vincent as business development specialists; Gina Austin as a manager; and MaryLou Banker as a project coordinator.
Devin Dukes joined as an event coordinator in the firm’s marketing group.
Tammy Champagne joined as an accounting and training assistant in the firm’s administration. Erica Long joined as a senior recruiter in its executive fit group. Kristi Thompson was hired as a director of learning and development.
The new hires will be based in BerryDunn’s offices in Portland and Bangor. Eskow will be based in the Manchester, New Hampshire, office.
• Andrea Todd rejoined P&C Insurance as vice president and account executive at the Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution branch in Westbrook.
Todd, of Westbrook, was first hired 10 years ago and worked in marketing and as a personal lines underwriter. In this role, she will specialize in commercial property and casualty insurance.
• John Peters joined Eaton Peabody Consulting Group.
Peters brings 30 years of experience as a member of the management team for Downeast Energy Corp. He served as its president for the last 10 years. He managed the sale of Downeast and stayed for a year after the sale. He has extensive experience in management consulting, business succession planning, management of family-owned business, estate planning for small-business owners, energy markets and acquisitions.
GENERAL
• Day One has opened a new residential treatment center on the historic Good Will-Hinckley campus.
Day One is Maine’s leading agency preventing and treating youth substance abuse with more than 40 years of experience. It operates two homes in southern Maine.
The new home will serve as many as 14 Maine teenagers at a time. The six-month program addresses the underlying causes of substance abuse.
