EDGECOMB — The fifth annual silent auction is under way at the Edgecomb Congregational Church, located on Cross Point Road.
A selection of items on display include two table fountains, a variety of gift certificates, a new Pendleton wool blanket, a tea cart, handmade wooden vehicles and an antique china tea service. Auction items are on display and bids may be made anytime the church is open: Sunday mornings, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. when the thrift shop is open and on Saturday supper nights, including Aug. 16 and Sept. 27.
The auction will continue until the final summer supper on Sept. 27 at which time the winning bids will be announced.
There are currently more than 70 items on display with more coming in.
The silent auction, the thrift shop and the summer suppers are major fund raisers to support the local mission and outreach program of the church.
