HALF MOON JUG BAND
Chandler’s Band, the second oldest military band in the United States, will play a free tent concert outside on the green at the South Freeport Congregational Church this evening at 7 p.m., to help kick off the festival.
People are invited to come browse the attic treasures sale from 3-7 p.m. and stay for the free concert.
All festivities take place on the grounds of the South Freeport Congregational Church on South Freeport Road.
For the grownups, there are all things delicious and blueberry to eat or purchase: pies, muffins, scones, jam, even blueberry barbecue sauce and smoked salmon.
An Attic Treasure sale will be combined with a book and jewelry sale today. It will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday morning, so join us for coffee and blueberry baked goods.
We’ll serve a lobster roll lunch at noon and a chicken barbecue at 5:30 p.m.
At 7 p.m., The Half Moon Jug Band will play will play in an outdoor tent concert. Tickets are $10, and available in advance at www.brownpaperticket.com.
Saturday is an all day party for the kids, with Sparks’ Ark animals there at 11 a.m., and interactive music by Earth Jams starting at noon. There will be miniature horse carriage rides at 1 p.m., a “Vandini” magic and balloon show at 2:30 p.m. and hard core hula hooping at 3:30 p.m.
With a bounce house, face painting, games and more, the kids can have fun all day long. Admission is $5.
Wake up Sunday morning for a homemade blueberry pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. for $6.
