On Friday, June 27 of this year, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that protesting in front of pro-abortion Planned Parenthood clinics is free speech. In this “buffer zone” debate, the court favored pro-life demonstrators.
On Monday, June 30, Hobby Lobby won its Supreme Court case. But women will still be able to have their birth control pills. If they do not have money, they can go to Planned Parenthood clinics. Morning-after pills, the abortion-inducing pill, will not be covered by Hobby Lobby health care insurance. The court ruled in favor of the “Religious Freedom Act.”
The Catholic Church’s canon law 915 forbids pro-choice Catholic politicians from receiving communion, but because church spiritual leaders are afraid of offending parishioners, they will not enforce the church law in Maine.
The legislation of LD 1247 saw the Family Planning Association and Planned Parenthood lobbying hard for additional taxpayer dollars. They are the State of Maine’s largest abortion providers.
One representative wrote about how his mother sacrificed for her children, but he supports women aborting their unborn babies. He also voted for LD 1247. His mother must have been a Republican; she gave birth to her children, and God bless her.
It’s a woman’s body and her choice, Democrats will tell you.
