SACO — Herberta L. Harriman, 82, of Saco, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at her home, after a long illness.

She was born in Gorham on June 30, 1931, the daughter of Herbert M. and Georgianna Martin Harriman.

She was educated in Saco schools and graduated from Thornton Academy.

Ms. Harriman worked 12 years with Clifford L. Swan Real Estate Broker in Portland. She worked a few years with Smith Carona Typewriter Co. in Portland, worked 25 years with Crane Supply Co., which was later bought out by F.W. Webb Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning Supply Co. in Portland, retiring in 1996.

Herberta was a member of the Cornerstone Methodist Church in Saco and past president of Women’s Educational & Industrial Union in Saco. She enjoyed knitting, baking, reading, traveling, working in her garden and going to lunch with her friends.

Surviving are several cousins and many friends.

Visiting hours will be 10-11 a.m. on Monday, June 16 at Hope Memorial Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Saco.
