SACO — Orilla Allie, 93, of Saco, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco after a brief illness.
She was born in St. Quentin, New Brunswick, Canada on Sept. 27, 1920, the daughter of Thomas and Euphemie Picard Guerette.
She was educated in Guerette schools and came to the local area in 1942.
On May 6, 1946, she married Raymond R. Allie in St. Andre’s Church in Biddeford.
Mrs. Allie worked a few years with the Pepperell Mfg. Co. in Biddeford.
She enjoyed being a homemaker, her family and friends at Atlantic Heights.
She was preceded in death by: her sons, Roland R. Allie, in 1947, and Gerard R. Allie, in 2006; her husband in 2011; her grandson, Brian G. Allie, in 2004; three brothers, Sylvio, Romeo and Leo Guerette; and five sisters, Cecile Lagasse, Germaine Lagasse, Rita St. Peter, Marie Ange Ouellette and Sr. Yvette Guerette.
Surviving are: one son, Donald R. Allie and his wife Linda of Biddeford; one daughter, Jeanne P. Lyons and her husband William of York; two brothers, Robert Guerette and his wife Theresa of Old Orchard Beach and Norman Guerette of Kennebunk; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one daughter-in-law, Claudette Allie of Biddeford.
Visiting hours will be Monday, June 16, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford. Memorial donations in Mrs. Allie’s memory may be made to St. James School, 25 Graham St., Biddeford, ME 04005. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel.
