LYMAN — Guy G. Labbe, 57, of Lyman, died suddenly Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.
He was born Oct. 4, 1956 in Biddeford, a son of Wilfred F. and Lucille E. (Auger) Labbe, and was educated locally.
Guy graduated from Biddeford High School with the Class of 1974.
He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
On May 31, 1986, he married Janice Perry at St. Andre’s Church.
Guy had been employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and then at Labbe Upholstery. He was most recently employed as a Zoom shuttle bus driver for Biddeford, Saco and Old Orchard Beach Transit Co.
Guy enjoyed working in his yard and tending his pond, guitar playing, grilling and cooking.
He was a former member of the Masons and an honorary member of the Goodwins Mills Fire Department.
Surviving are: his wife of 28 years, Janice Labbe of Lyman; three daughters, Suzanne Labbe of Old Orchard Beach, Jessica Labbe and her spouse Amy Deck and Katherine M. Labbe, all of Lyman; one grandson, Cainan Labbe of Old Orchard Beach; two brothers, Donald Labbe and his wife Sandra of Canada and Maurice Labbe and his wife Melissa of Lyman; one sister, Linda Hajjar and her husband Doug of Arundel; many nieces and nephews; and countless “adopted” children.
Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford. A funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. To share condolences online, visit www.hopememorial.com.
