LONDONDERRY, N.H. — Richard C. Cote, 77, of Londonderry, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Jan. 9, 1937 in Biddeford, Maine, a son of the late Fernand and Rose Helen (Salvas) Cote.
He was raised and educated in Saco, Maine.
He had been a resident of Londonderry for 43 years.
Mr. Cote was employed for 14 years with UPS in Manchester. He later retired in 2001 from Federal Express in Londonderry, where he worked for 25 years. After retirement, he served as a classroom safety instructor for AARP and drove for Enterprise Rental Car until October 2013.
Mr. Cote was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
He was a communicant of St. Mark’s Church in Londonderry and was a current member of the Biddeford-Saco Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by: his sister, Claudette Villandry.
He is survived by: his wife of 53 years, Monique (Goulet) Cote of Londonderry; two daughters, Karen L. Wheeler of Stratham and Kristie A. Decelles and her husband Christopher of Londonderry; four sisters, Dianne Eager of Coconut Creek, Fla., Vivian Newton of Bangor, Maine, Claire McTiernan of Portland, Maine, and Celeste Chabot of Biddeford, Maine; as well as many nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a liturgy of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10 a.m. in St. Mark’s Church, corner of South Road and Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Private burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Biddeford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
