As a retired teacher and long-time community member, I urge Democrats to turn out to vote for our state senator, John Tuttle, on June 10 in the Democratic primary.

Tuttle has been a tireless advocate for Sanford and central York County for decades. Recently, he has stood up for us by fighting for the restoration of revenue sharing to our towns and cities. This means that our tax dollars will be reinvested locally to fund our roads and schools, as well as to keep property taxes down.

He has been an advocate for seniors, fighting to restore cuts made to the Drugs for the Elderly program. As a working person who helps care for his mother, Tuttle knows full well how too many seniors struggle to afford medications they need while still putting food on the table.

Tuttle is a true son of Sanford who fights for the little guy every day in Augusta. He holds office hours at his house on Cottage Street every Sunday, where he listens, takes notes and works the phones the next day to deliver results for folks who need it.

He has his finger on the pulse of this community, which is why I am proud to support him in the Democratic primary on June 10.
