WEST BATH
The West Bath Historical Society will hold its annual meeting and pot luck supper on Thursday, June 5, at the Old West Bath Meeting House on Berry’s Mill Road at 6 pm. As usual, this event is free and open to the public.
The highlight of the evening will be an illustrated talk by Carrie Kinne, Executive Director of the Kennebec Estuary Land Trust (KELT), which is celebrating 25 years of conservation efforts. She will talk about how KELT helps protect local land (including West Bath’s Green Point Preserve, off Birch Point Road) and water resources in the Kennebec Estuary region, including counting alewives in the Nequasset River, providing trails and hunting areas and protecting farmland in the area.
A graduate of UMaine, Carrie has lived and worked in the state all her life. She joined KELT in 2008. Her previous career focused on fundraising and she has spent the last thirty years working with a variety of non-profits across Maine. She grew up on the Kennebec River in Farmingdale and absolutely loves working in this amazing place – the Kennebec Estuary.
The West Bath Historical Society is proud to host this event, which promises to be an interesting and informative evening.
Please bring a pot luck main course, salad or dessert to share. We ask that you come with your own plate and silverware in order to save on paper waste. Beverages, cups and napkins will be provided.
