SANFORD — Richard Edward Todd, 43, known affectionately as “Lil Richie,” died peacefully at home on May 21, after a long struggle with O.P. muscular dystrophy.

He was born in Gloucester, Mass. on Dec. 27, 1970, the son of Richard A. and Geraldine Ann Todd, and moved to Sanford several years ago.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and many different sports. A dedicated family man, he had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh.

Survivors include: his mother; daughter, Danielle M. Todd; son, Richard E. A. Todd; granddaughter, Maddison J. Todd; sister, Paula Marie Todd; niece, Asia L. Worthen and spouse Jenessa; nephews, Adrian DeHaan and fiancée Felicia Bell and Ryan S. DeHaan; great-nephew, Dustin M. Maley; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, May 21 from 2-4 p.m. at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. Burial will be at the Beechbrook Cemetery in Gloucester, Mass. on June 2 at 2 p.m.
