OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Claudette E. Thibodeau, 65, of Old Orchard Beach, died early Monday morning, May 12, 2014 in Arundel, at the home of Gil and Jackie Laflamme, after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Biddeford on Feb. 20, 1949, the daughter of Robert N. and Rose A. Gregoire Souliere.
She was educated in Biddeford schools and received her CNA certification through Biddeford Adult Education.
Mrs. Thibodeau worked 10 years at Country Way Nursery School in Arundel, four years at Trull Nursing Home in Biddeford and two years at Components, Inc. in Kennebunk. She worked 10 years at Clean Slate Cleaning Service in Arundel and last worked 28 years with Sweetser Children’s Home in Saco, retiring in May 2013.
Claudette enjoyed cooking, going to the beach, playing cards and caring for the elderly. She loved caring for her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a brother, Richard R. Souliere in 1995.
Surviving are: one daughter, Lisa Donovan and her husband Brian of Biddeford; one son, Rodney Thibodeau of Old Orchard Beach; one sister, Claire R. Labbe and her husband Raynald of Clearwater, Fla.; one brother, Reynald M. Souliere and his wife Sue of Biddeford; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 at St. Joseph Church of the Good Shepherd Parish in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Biddeford.
