I read last week about the Biddeford School District applying for a grant to improve Waterhouse Field. I hope we win this. However, using artificial turf is not a good idea. We all have become increasingly alarmed at the effects plastic has on our environment and our children.

Let’s use the money to pay for grass maintenance or for a new, large lawnmower.
