WELLS — Lauren Bame tossed a five-hit shutout and hit a two-run homer in the first inning Saturday, leading Wells to a 12-0 victory against Lake Region in a season-opening Western Maine Conference softball game.
Jordan Agger also homered, Sophie Lamb hit a three-run triple and Meg Young had two hits and four RBI among Wells’ 11 hits.
Allison Morse had two hits for the Lakers.
BOYS’ LACROSSE
GREELY 22, LAKE REGION 3: Mitch Mullin scored eight goals and Tim Adams had six as the Rangers cruised to a season-opening victory at Naples.
MARANACOOK/WINTH-ROP 6, NYA 1: Toby Smith scored four goals to lead Maranacook/Winthrop to a season-opening win at Yarmouth.
Zach Glazer and Denver Cram added a goal apiece. Trevor Lachance scored for NYA.
KENNEBUNK 15, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Josh Hussey and Ryan Keefe scored three goals apiece to pace the Rams in an opener at Kennebunk.
Pat Gassman added two goals.
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
GREELY 21, GOULD ACADEMY 8: Cam Keefe scored five goals, and Teal Otley and Jill Booth added four goals apiece as the Rangers won an opener at Bethel.
Gabby Bouchard chipped in four assists and Krystyna Rybka finished with 19 saves for Greely.
Lexi Bullen scored three goals for Gould.
