BIDDEFORD — Elaine F. Bilodeau, 65, of Biddeford, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
She was born Oct. 11, 1948 in Milbridge, a daughter of John and Alberta Strout, and was educated in Milbridge. She was raised by her grandmother, Ethel Strout.
Elaine came here as a young woman and was employed for many years in the mailroom of the Journal Tribune. Later, she worked in the housekeeping department of Southridge Living Center in Biddeford and The Viking nursing home in Cape Elizabeth.
Elaine was well known for her vast array of collectible frogs. She enjoyed crocheting and fishing, but most of all, the time she could spend with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a brother, Richard Strout, 17 years ago.
Surviving are: two sons, Brian Cabana of Alfred and Shawn Cabana and his wife Sherry of Biddeford; one daughter, Sherri Lafontaine and her husband Shane Sr. of Biddeford; four brothers, Alton Strout and his wife Lillian of Milbridge, Ronald Strout and his wife Karen of Columbia, Wayne Strout and his wife Jean of Biddeford and Bruce “Joseph” Strout and his wife Steph of Harrington; two sisters, Anita Seavey and her husband Hollis of Columbia and Lois Farnsworth and her husband John of Columbia Falls; six grandchildren, Cora Cabana and Devin Couture, Shane Jr. and Mikaela Lafontaine, and Morgan and Mason Cabana; and sister-in-law, Beulah Strout (widow of Richard) of Biddeford.
Elaine is survived also by: the father of her children, Paul Cabana of Sanford; her second husband, Richard Bilodeau of Biddeford; most recently, her special friend of five years, Maynard Light of Biddeford; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
