LEBANON — Dennis William Picou, 50, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, March 17, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Hempstead, N.Y. on Dec. 29, 1963, son of David Picou of Amityville, N.Y. and Sallie (Boston) Chandler of Lebanon.
He grew up in Bangor and moved to Lebanon, where he was a graduate of Noble High School, Class of 1982.
For the past 14 years, he had the privilege to work daily with his very special “Papa,” Arnold Chandler. He had worked as a supervisor at F.W. Morse for a number of years, and was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard from 1983-92.
Dennis was loved by many. His sense of humor, charm and wit will be deeply missed.
He is survived by: his parents, Sallie and Arnold Chandler of Lebanon and David and Virginia Picou of Amityville, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Jana Picou of Somersworth, N.H.; special friend and “brother,” Victor Castillo and wife Dawn of Eliot; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Emily Pease of Severn, Md.; daughter, Leah Costales of Rochester, N.H.; brother, Derrick Picou of Springfield, Mo.; sisters, Deirdre Picou of Amityville, N.Y. and Danielle Picou of Dublin, Pa.; a special aunt, Carol Picou of Queens, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
“Uncle” will be forever in the hearts and dearly missed by Casey Callahan, Emily Callahan, Alexis Picou and David Picou, all of Somersworth, N.H.
At the request of Dennis, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in memory of Dennis Picou to St. Charles Children’s Home, 19 Grant St., Rochester, NH 03867.
