KENNEBUNK — David R. Jones, 42, of Kennebunk, died on March 16, 2014 at his home.
He was born in New Rochelle, N.Y. on Feb. 29, 1972, the son of Leon H. and Marion C. (Phelan) Jones.
He graduated from Queensbury High School and went on to attend Adirondack Community College in New York.
David spent a great deal of time exploring the East Coast as a young man. Fifteen years ago, he made it to Maine and knew he had found home.
David started Leapday Enterprises as owner/operator in May 2002.
On Aug. 2, 2003, he married Amanda Lagueux at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford.
Nothing made David more proud than the privilege of delivering his daughter on Nov. 18, 2011.
David loved anything ’80s: antique cars, keeping up with the stock market, current events and The Weather Channel. Every night closed with a game of “fuzzface” with Anastasia and a phone call to recap that day’s world events with his 101-year-old grandmother.
He will be forever missed by: his parents, Leon and Marion Jones; and his maternal grandmother, Marion Phelan, all of Queensbury, N.Y.; his spouse of 11 years, Amanda Jones and their daughter Anastasia of Kennebunk; his sister, Allyson Owens and husband Wil of Glens Falls, N.Y. and their children Marcus and Nicole; and his brother, Mark Jones and wife Megan of Fort Edward, N.Y. and their son Alexander.
There will be no visiting hours. There will be a memorial Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22 at St. Margaret’s Church, 6 Saco Ave. in Old Orchard Beach.
