SACO — Irene R. Paquet, 93, of Saco, passed away Friday evening on March 14, 2014, at Southridge Living Center in Biddeford.
She was born in Hardwick, Vt. on Aug. 8, 1920, a daughter of Esdras and Florida (Bessette) Dufresne.
She graduated from St. Michael High School in Montpellier, Vt.
In 1941, Irene moved from Cabot, Vt. to Saco.
She was employed by Westpoint Pepperell in Biddeford for 36 1/2 years, retiring in 1982.
She was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Ralph Dussault in 1964; one son, Donald in 1951; and by five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by: her husband of 39 years, Armand N. Paquet of Saco; one son, Reynald Dussault and his wife Bonita of Saco; one daughter, Ann Platt and her husband Earle of Loyalton, Calif.; two stepsons, Lawrence and Ronald Paquet of Ontario; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, time to be announced.
