Last year, I had trouble receiving some very important mail. At first, my thought was the post office was not delivering the mail correctly, but upon further investigation that was far from being true.
Does anybody know of any two cities having the same ZIP code? Each city and town are supposed to have their own unique ZIP code, but for the towns of Biddeford and Dayton, they have the same one. We even have some of the same street names and numbers.
People who work for the courier companies do not look at the town to which they need to deliver the package. They look at the ZIP code, street address and then the town. I spoke to the post office about it. They said they couldn’t do anything about it. They didn’t know that Dayton and Biddeford had the same ZIP code or street names. And to try to find the right agency to rectify this problem is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
To this date, I know some of my mail or parcels that I have ordered and never received have gone to the address similar to mine in Dayton because the delivery person doesn’t know that Biddeford exists and that Biddeford has the same ZIP code.
So, if you live in Biddeford and you are not getting your mail or parcels, they may be going to someone in Dayton with an address like yours. And if the people like what you have, they don’t want to send it forward to you.
I hope someone can undo this costly mistake.
