OLD ORCHARD BEACH — Tyler Scott scored 19 points and Zach Seamans added 17 to lead the Seagulls to a 76-36 victory over Sacopee Valley in a Western Maine Conference game on Tuesday night.

Josh Davis also scored nine points for OOB (11-5), while Alex Fenderson led the Hawks (5-11) with eight points.

Thornton Academy 73, Scarborough 60

SACO — Kevin Barret scored 20 points, including 16 in the second half, to lead Thornton Academy to a victory over Scarborough in an SMAA game on Tuesday night at Linnell Gymnasium.

Evan Wright also scored 18 points for the Golden Trojans (11-6), who also got 16 points from Reuben Moses and 11 from Quinn Richardson-Newton.

Mike Hartl scored a game-high 27 points for the Red Storm (9-9).

Sanford 77, Marshwood 64

SOUTH BERWICK — Evyn Nolette scored a game-high 27 points, including hitting 15 free throws, as the Sanford pulled away from Marshwood in an SMAA game on Tuesday night.

John Morgan added 12 points for the Spartans (11-6) while Jordan Tranchemontagne chipped in 10.

Drew Bartlett and Jack Letellier scored 13 points apiece to lead the Hawks (6-11).

Freeport 58, Kennebunk 55

FREEPORT — Freeport took a 15-6 first-quarter lead and held on the rest of the way to deal Kennebunk’s playoff hopes a harsh blow in a Western Maine Conference game on Tuesday night.

Trailing 31-22 at halftime, the Rams (6-11) went on a 18-10 run to pull within one heading into the fourth quarter but couldn’t keep the momentum going as the Falcons (2-15) sealed the win.

Jack Davenport scored 24 points to lead the way for Freeport, with Chandler Birmingham adding 21.

Austin Sandler and Jack Lapham paced Kennebunk with 15 points apiece, with Tyler Elkington chipping in 10 and Ben Wilson eight.

Greely 70, Wells 53

WELLS — Mike McDevitt scored a game-high 28 points and Conner Hanley added 18 as top-ranked Greely (16-1) downed in a Western Maine Conference game on Tuesday night at Ronco Gym.

Jake Moody scored 17 poinst for Wells (5-12), which also got 11 points from Alex McCormack-Kuhman.

Girls Basketball

Thornton Academy 39, Scarborough 34

SCARBOROUGH — Thornton Academy outscored Scarborough 15-7 in the fourth quarter to come away with a gritty win in a defensively-oriented SMAA girls basketball game on Tuesday night.

Abigail Strickland scored nine points to lead a balanced Golden Trojans (15-2) attack. Katie McCrum and Isabella Robinson chipped in eight points apiece for T.A., while Hannah Murphy added six and Ashley Howe five.

Bailey Adams scored 18 points for teh Red Storm (7-10).

Sanford 51, Marshwood 29

SANFORD — Morgan Fogg scored 15 points and Grace Riley added 12 as Sanford all but locked up a playoff spot with a win over Marshwood in an SMAA game on Tuesday night at Veteran’s Memorial Gym.

Shelby Paiement added nine points and Hannah Howes seven for the Spartans (8-9), who outscored teh Hawks 15-2 in the second quarter to take a 19-11 lead into the half.

Megan McLean led Marshwood (7-10) with 10 points.

Massabesic 55, Noble 30

WATERBORO — Emma Desrcohers scored a game-high 20 points and Massabesic took a 26-15 halftime lead on the way to a win over Noble in an SMAA game on Tuesday night

Karlie Pike added 11 points for the Mustangs (2-15), who also got 10 points from Jolena Lampron and nine from Chelsie Goodwin.

Taylor Mallett scored 11 to pace the Knights (0-17)

PORTLAND 75, Biddeford 35

BIDDEFORD — Portland opened up a 38-15 halftime lead on the way to a 72-35 victory over Biddeford in an SMAA game on Tuesday night at Tiger Gym.

Portland took advantage of 17 Biddeford turnovers in the first half to take the commanding 23-point lead. The Bulldogs (14-3) placed four players in double figures, led by Brianna Holdren and Kate Johnson with 13 apiece.

The Tigers (3-14) were led by Bailey Cote with 10 points, while Kendra Cote added eight points, Brittany Roy seven and Carissa Gelinas six.
