An icon of the immaculate conception of the blessed virgin Mary, signed by Pope Francis, is on pilgrimage throughout Maine and will be on display at Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave. in Sanford, in conjunction with prayer services on Wednesday, Feb. 5, after the 7:30 a.m. Mass, and again in the evening at 7 p.m. All are invited to view the icon and join in prayer for peace and thanksgiving. Each Knights of Columbus State Council received an icon as part of the Knights of Columbus Marian Prayer Program. The icon is a reproduction of the original, which hangs in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Quebec. The Cathedral is marking its 350th anniversary with a year-long celebration.
