BIDDEFORD — A memorial service and other events have been planned to remember Kathy Duke, a beloved member of the Biddeford community who was the face of the Stone Soup Food Pantry for many years.
Duke died of cancer on Jan. 14. She was 73.
A memorial service has been planned for Saturday, Feb. 8 at Hope Memorial Chapel in Biddeford. Visiting hours begin at 10 a.m., the memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. and following that there will be a gathering at the Captain’s Galley restaurant in Old Orchard Beach. The public is invited.
This Saturday, Feb. 1, from 1-3 p.m., the Stone Soup Food Pantry Board of directors and volunteers will hold an open house at the Main Street pantry.
There will also be a fundraiser in Duke’s honor on Feb. 21. The Kathy Duke “An Act of Love” variety benefit show will take place at the Biddeford City Theater. The event will feature rock music and comedy. The variety show is from 6-9 p.m., doors open at 5 p.m. Admission is $5 at the door.
